WE CONTRIBUTE Sustainability. Partnership. Social Enterprise. These are words often used in development circles today. But would you recognize these things if you saw them? We aim to leave behind a tangible legacy that can be seen, heard, and harnessed by the communities we work with. We are not in business of documenting community life and then running away with the footage. At the core of our mission is the promotion of Media Democracy. We believe that adding new voices and fresh perspectives equals more freedom. Our online community is part of this effort. But we don't stop there. We also set up Media Cooperatives in the developing world communities where we work. Through our projects, local residents have been introduced to creating their own media content; Why not build on this? We continue the partnership by providing support to these co-ops in producing new content and marketing it to outside media outlets and other content users. The revenue generated sustains the co-op and contributes to sustained livelihood enhancement for years to come. Our local partners become social entrepreneurs, using their new skills to change minds, connect communities at home and abroad, and generate new forms of sustainable income. |
